Western Naval Command claims overall titles at Inter-Command Table Tennis Championship - 2026
The Western Naval Command secured both the men's and women's titles at the Inter-Command Table Tennis Championship - 2026, which concluded at SLNS Gemunu.
The three-day tournament held from 3 to 5 September at the Commander Parakrama Samaraweera Memorial Indoor Sports Complex, featuring 8 men's teams and 7 women's teams representing all Naval Commands. The Afloat Command finished as runners-up in the men’s category, while the Training Command took second place in the women’s event.

• Most outstanding novice (men) : Surgeon Lieutenant DDDL Saparamadu

• Most outstanding novice (women) :Woman Ordinary Seaman DWANN Wijesinghe
• Emerging player of the year (women) :Woman Ordinary Seaman DWANN Wijesinghe
Commodore Aruna Wijewardena, Commandant Volunteer Naval Force and Deputy Area Commander Western Naval Area, attended the prize-awarding ceremony as the chief guest. Director Sports, Commodore Indika Edirisinghe and Chairman Sri Lanka Navy Table Tennis, Surgeon Commander HUS Silva and a group of naval personnel were present on this occasion.
