Inter-Command Swimming and Water Polo Championships conclude at SLNS Gemunu

The Sri Lanka Navy’s Inter-Command Swimming and Water Polo Championships - 2026 concluded at the swimming pool of SLNS Gemunu on 26 August, with the Training Command winning both the men’s and women’s championships.

The four-day tournament, held from 23 to 26 August, was contested by around 200 male and female athletes representing all Navy commands.

• Best Swimmer (Women) : Woman Able Seaman PNN Piyasiri (Western Command)

• Best Novice Swimmer (Men) : Ordinary Seaman WGCK Kumara (Eastern Command)

• Best Novice Swimmer (Women) : Woman Ordinary Seaman AHIH Sampath (Eastern Command)

• Best Veteran Swimmer : Chief Petty Officer KAS Kumara (Southern Command)
