Navy's 1157th RO plant brings clean water to Thirukkovil

In a continuing effort to uplift community well-being, a Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant, set up by the Sri Lanka Navy, was declared open at the Thirukkovil Police Station, Ampara on 15 Jun 26.

This Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) initiative was brought to fruition through the financial sponsorship of Capital Metals PLC, combined with the technical expertise of the Sri Lanka Navy. With the opening of this new facility, the Navy has now installed and handed over a total of 1,157 RO plants across the island.

This newly established RO plant is set to fulfill a vital need in the area, providing easy access to safe and clean drinking water for the police personnel stationed at the Thirukkovil Police Station as well as a large number of residents living in the surrounding community.
