Indo-Pacific Regional Information Sharing platform successfully concludes in Colombo

A programme to develop a National Standard Operating Procedure for the use of the Indo-Pacific Regional Information Sharing (IORIS) platform concluded successfully in Colombo today, 28 August 2026.

The programme, held at the Lighthouse Galley in Colombo, was conducted under the European Union’s Critical Maritime Routes Indian Ocean (EU CRIMARIO) programme, which supports maritime capacity building among stakeholders to enhance the security of critical sea routes in the Indian Ocean.

The latest programme was aimed at strengthening the capacity of officers in the Operations Directorate of the Sri Lanka Navy and it was conducted by Mr. Bjon, Instructor and Exercise Planner from EU CRIMARIO, country representative for Sri Lanka. The event encompassed a Maritime Cooperation, Coordination and Communication (MARCO3) 2026 programme, conducted from 17 to 21 August, and the workshop on developing the IORIS National Standard Operating Procedure, held from 24 to 28 August.
