Commandant’s Cup Sailing Regatta 2024 sets sail in Trincomalee
The ‘Commandant’s Cup Sailing Regatta - 2024’ organized for the fourth time by the Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA), Trincomalee commenced at the Commander Shanthi Bahar Memorial Sailing Club on 18th August 2024. At the invitation of Commandant NMA, Commodore Rohan Joseph, the opening ceremony was graced by Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Kanchana Banagoda, as the Chief Guest.

Commander of the Navy felicitates Leading Seaman Subasinghe for his achievement in 4th Asian Para Games in China
Leading Seaman SMASM of the Sri Lanka Navy showcased his talent by securing a bronze medal in the men’s 400 meters event in the 4th Asian Para Games held in Hangzhou, China on 28th October 2023. Inviting him to the Navy Headquarters today (12th August 2024), the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera appreciated his achievement and awarded the athlete with a cash prize.

Commander of the Navy felicitates Asia Cup heroines from the Navy
Key players from the Sri Lanka Navy, Woman Leading Seaman Udeshika Probodhani, Woman Able Seaman Hasini Perera and Woman Ordinary Seaman Harshitha Samarawickrama, who were part of the triumphant Sri Lanka squad that clinched the Women's T20 Asia Cup 2024 title recently, met with the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, at the Navy Headquarters today (05th August 2024). In recognition of their stellar achievements, the Commander of the Navy granted the players well-deserved advancements to next higher rates of Woman Petty Officer, Woman Leading Seaman and Woman Able Seaman respectively.

The three-day event, held from 24th to 26th July 2024, witnessed intense competition among Naval Commands, with the Afloat Command emerging as the men's champions and the Western Naval Command clinching the women's championship.

The Sri Lanka Navy won the runner up title in the Intermediate Boxing Championship – 2024 organized by the Boxing Association of Sri Lanka (BASL). The tournament was held in the Royal MAS Boxing Arena from 15th to 18th July 2024.

The Inter-Command Table Tennis Tournament – 2024 was held at the Commander Parakrama Samaraweera Memorial Indoor Sports Complex, SLNS Gemunu from 02nd to 05th July 2024. Demonstrating their outstanding table tennis prowess, the men’s and women’s championship titles were won by the Western Naval Command.

Northern Naval Command triumphs as champions in Inter-Command Tennis Tournament 2024
The Inter-Command Tennis Tournament 2024 of the Sri Lanka Navy was held at the Naval and Maritime Academy Tennis Courts from 22nd to 29th June 2024. Recording noteworthy performances throughout the tournament Northern Naval Command emerged as champions and the North Central Naval Command won the runner-up title.
