The Sri Lanka Navy sailing teams secured many wins at ‘CMYC Team Racing GP 14’ and ‘QEQ Sailing Challenge Trophy Open Race – 2023’ held in the alluring waters of Bolgoda Lake on 26th and 27th August 2023.

The 02nd National Handball Championship was held from 11th to 14th August 2023 at the Puttalam Urban Council Ground. In the final encounter against the Sri Lanka Army, the men’s handball team of the Sri Lanka Navy secured the second place.

In a stunning display of skill and teamwork, the Navy men’s baseball team emerged victorious as champions in the 12th Defence Services Baseball Tournament. The thrilling matches were held at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium in Diyagama from 25th to 28th July 2023.

Woman Petty Officer Gayanthika Abeyrathne and Woman Ordinary Seaman Sayuri Mendis of the Sri Lanka Navy today (16th July 2023) made their country proud by winning a bronze medal in women’s 800m and a silver medal in women’s 400x4 relay respectively at the 25th Asian Athletics Championships in Thailand. The Asian Athletics Championships is being held at the National Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Woman Petty Officer Gayanthika Abeyrathne of the Sri Lanka Navy today (12th July 2023) made her country proud by winning a bronze medal in women’s 1500m at the 25th Asian Athletics Championships in Thailand. The Asian Athletics Championships is being held at the National Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Navy Inter-command Rugby Tournament -2023 came to an exhilarating close at the rugby ground of SLNS Uththara, showcasing the exceptional sporting prowess of naval personnel. The three-day event, held from 05th to 07th July 2023, witnessed intense competition among various naval commands, with the Training Command emerging as the men's champions and the Western Naval Command clinching the women's championship.

The 12th Defence Services Wushu Championship was held at the Commander Parakrama Samaraweera Memorial Indoor Sports Complex, Welisara on 04th and 05th July 2023. In a remarkable display of skill and determination, the Navy men's and women's teams emerged victorious in the Wushu Championship.

The Inter-Command Women's Six-a-Side Softball Cricket Tournament 2023 was held at the Navy cricket ground, Welisara on 26th and 27th June 2023. The Chairman Sri Lanka Navy Cricket Committee, Rear Admiral Jalaj Ponnamperuma graced the final of the tournament as the Chief Guest.

The Navy athletes showcased their exceptional running skills, securing the runner-up positions in both the men's and women's half marathon at the 12th Defence Services Games. The athletics events of 12th Defence Services Games were held on 24th June 2023 at the Air Force grounds in Katunayake.

The women’s hockey team of the Sri Lanka Navy won the women’s championship in 12th Defence Services Hockey Tournament 2022/23. The tournament was held at the Sri Lanka Air Force Hockey Ground, Ekala on 23rd June 2023.
