Grit and glory on display at Navy's Inter-Command Basketball Championship 2025

The Commander Parakrama Samaraweera Indoor Stadium at SLNS Gemunu, Welisara, became the epicenter of naval athleticism as it hosted the highly competitive Inter-Command Basketball Championship - 2025 from 24 to 30 October.

The week-long tournament showcased exceptional talent and sportsmanship, with basketball players from across the various Naval Commands competing for top honours. The finals delivered thrilling displays of skill and determination, culminating in the Naval Fleet Command securing the Men's Championship and the Western Naval Command claiming the Women's Championship title.

The Men's final was a nail-biting contest where the Naval Fleet Command team clinched a hard-fought victory over the Western Naval Command, with a final score of 55-54. The Women's final saw the Western Naval Command demonstrate remarkable prowess on the court, earning a decisive victory over the North Central Naval Command with a final score of 25-16.
