Navy athletes shine at South Asian Athletics Championships 2025 in India
Sri Lanka Navy athletes made the nation proud by securing medals at the South Asian Athletics Championships 2025 held in Ranchi, India, from 24 to 26 Oct 25. The championship brought together top athletes from South Asian countries, showcasing regional athletic excellence.
Representing Sri Lanka, Woman Ordinary Seaman BSL Mendis delivered an outstanding performance in the Women’s 400m event, clocking 54.18 seconds to win a bronze medal. She also contributed to the national team’s success by securing second place in the 4x400m medley relay and second place in the 4x400m women’s relay, further adding to Sri Lanka’s medal tally. Meanwhile, Woman Ordinary Seaman OT Chandrasekara excelled in the Shot Put, claiming the bronze medal with a throw of 13.03 metres.
