Thrilling finals conclude Navy’s Inter-Command Volleyball Championship 2025

The Inter-Command Volleyball Championship 2025 was held from 03 to 08 October at the Commander Parakrama Samaraweera Memorial Indoor Sports Complex, Welisara. Demonstrating outstanding skill and teamwork, the Naval Fleet Command emerged victorious in the men’s championship, while the Southern Naval Command claimed the women’s title. The finals of the tournament was graced by the Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jagath Kumara.

The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from players representing all Naval Commands. The men’s final saw the Naval Fleet Command secure a 3–1 victory over the Eastern Naval Command to clinch the championship. Lieutenant DES Jayakody was adjudged the Best Player of the tournament.

Meanwhile, in the women’s final, the Southern Naval Command outperformed the Western Naval Command with a 2–0 win to clinch the championship title. Woman Recruit HATD Kumari was named the Best Player in the women’s category.
