Inter Command Hockey Championship concludes in Welisara

The Inter Command Hockey Championship of Sri Lanka Navy was held at the hockey ground of SLNS Lanka in Welisara from 08th to 11th October 2024. The men's co-championship title in the tournament was shared between the Western Naval Command and the Training Command, while the women's co-championship was jointly won by the Western Naval Command and the Southern Naval Command.

A thrilling tournament saw nine men’s teams and seven women’s teams from across Naval Commands compete for glory. Lieutenant KWGKG Dissanayake of the Training Command claimed the Best Player (men's) award, while AAL Amarasinghe from the Southern Naval Command also secured the Best Player (women's) title.

Deputy Area Commander Western Naval Area, Commodore Harsha De Silva, was present as Chief Guest at the prize-awarding ceremony. Some of the matches drew an enthusiastic crowd, including Rear Admiral Lashanth N Hewawitharana, Commandant Volunteer Naval Force, along with officers and sailors.
