Leading Seaman GLAL Madusanka earns best bowler title in Inter-Club First Class Three-Day Cricket Tournament
The Inter-Club First Class (Tier B) Three-Day Cricket Tournament, organized by Sri Lanka Cricket, took place from June 28 to September 15, 2024, featuring 12 sports clubs. Showcasing scintillating performances, Leading Seaman GLAL Madusanka of the Sri Lanka Navy stood out as the tournament’s Best Bowler.
Left-arm spinner Madusanka, representing the Navy, bowled 351.3 overs across 11 matches in the tournament, taking an impressive 77 wickets for 995 runs, including 88 maiden overs. His outstanding performance earned him the title of Best Bowler of the tournament.
In an outstanding bowling performance during the tournament, he bowled 15.2 overs in the first innings against Sebastian Sports Club, claiming 9 wickets for 55 runs, including 5 maiden overs. Over the entire match, he bowled a total of 38.1 overs, delivering 15 maiden overs and taking 15 wickets for 101 runs. This remarkable achievement stands as the best bowling performance in a single game of the tournament.
The awards ceremony of the tournament was held under the patronage of Mr. Samantha Dodanwela, Chairman of the Tournaments Organizing Committee, at Sri Lanka Cricket on 01st October 2024.
