Inter-Command Squash Tournament - 2024 concludes in Trincomalee

The Inter-Command Squash Tournament took place at the squash court in the Eastern Naval Command from 09th to 14th September 2024. The Afloat Command emerged victorious in the men's category, while the Western Naval Command claimed the women's championship.

In the novice men's category, Lieutenant Commander AMMDK Adhikari from the Afloat Command claimed the championship title, with Petty Officer (Physical Training Instructor - PTI) RMSB Rathnayake from the North Central Naval Command finishing as runner-up. For the men's over 35 years category, Petty Officer (PTI) HMA Priyantha of the Western Naval Command took first place, while Leading PTI WMAD Dissanayake, also from the Western Naval Command, secured the runner-up position.

In the men's over-40 category, Petty Officer (PTI) WGD Priyadarshana from the Western Naval Command claimed the championship, with Fleet Chief Petty Officer AAC Kumara, also representing the Western Naval Command, finishing as the runner-up. Leading PTI MHI Buddhika, representing the Western Naval Command, claimed the championship in the men's open category of the tournament, while Petty Officer (PTI) HMA Priyantha, also from the same Command, secured the runner-up position. Ordinary Seaman MMUN Bandara from the Western Naval Command claimed the championship in the Open Plate category, while Lieutenant Commander WMM Udantha, also from the same command, secured the runner-up position. The Women's Open Category championship was claimed by Woman Able Seaman HMSOB Herath from the Western Naval Command, while Woman PTI HGNV Rajapaksa, also from the same Command, secured the runner-up position.

Moreover, the Western Naval Command secured the overall men's runner-up title in the tournament, while the Eastern Naval Command claimed the women's runner-up position.

The prize awarding of Inter-Command Squash Tournament - 2024 was held on 14th September under the patronage of Deputy Area Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Varuna Ferdinandusz. Commandant Naval and Maritime Academy, Commodore Rohan Joseph, officers and sailors from the Eastern Naval Command were present on this occasion.
