Navy secures runner up title in Negombo International Rating Chess Championship 2024

The Navy secured the runner up title in Negombo International Rating Chess Championship 2024. The international rating chess championship hosted for the eighth time by the District Chess Association – Gampaha, was held at the Wet Water Resort, Ja-Ela from 15th to 19th August 2024.

The chess championship was participated by 451 chess players, both male and female, from home and away. Leading Seaman SWGMCDKB Wijekoon of the Navy won the runner-up title of the overall tournament.
