Navy wins runner-up title in Sri Lanka Baseball Knockout Tournament

The Sri Lanka Navy men’s baseball team secured the runner-up position in the final match against the Sri Lanka Army during the Sri Lanka Baseball Knockout Tournament held at the Japan Sri Lanka Friendship Baseball Ground, Diyagama, from 06th to 21st January 2024.

A number of players from renowned baseball clubs in the country, including the Navy baseball team, took part in the tournament. Out of the 19 teams, the Navy men’s baseball team and the Army team advanced to the finals. In the final encounter, the Navy managed to win the runner-up slot (09-04).

The President of Sri Lanka Baseball, Mr Asanga Seneviratne, Chairman Navy Baseball Pool, Captain Upul Samarakoon, tri-service officers and baseball players were present to witness the final game.
