Navy clinch women’s title in 12th Defence Services Soccer Championship

The Soccer Championship of the 12th Defence Services Games was held from 03rd to 22nd May 2023 at the Race Course Ground, Colombo. In a thrilling finale, the women’s team of the Navy emerged victorious, claiming the highly coveted championship title. In addition, the Navy men’s soccer team also managed to secure the runner-up title.

The final showdown featured a clash between the Navy women's team and their formidable opponents- Sri Lanka Army. As the encounter was over the Navy was clearly ahead 02-00, clinching the championship title.

Meanwhile, the final battle for the supremacy of men’s champions was worked off between the Army and the Navy, where the Navy won the runner-up title 02-01.
