Navy women's beach volleyball team secures runners-up spot in Defense Services Games

The Sri Lanka Navy women's beach volleyball team emerged as the runners-up in the Beach Volleyball Tournament of 12th Defense Services Games 2022/23. The tournament was held on 20th and 21st April 2023 at the Browns Beach, Negombo.

This time around, the tournament was organised by the Sri Lanka Navy Volleyball Pool. Among the teams that participated in the tournament, the Navy Women's Beach Volleyball team demonstrated exceptional teamwork. Despite facing stiff competition from the Sri Lanka Army in the final (2-1), Woman Able Seaman AKT Lakshani and Woman Ordinary Seaman MGD Bandara managed to secure the second position, emerging as runners-up in the tournament.

Director Naval Weapon Commodore Harsha De Silva, the Chairman of Navy Beach Volleyball Pool, Captain Ranjith Walgampaya and a group of senior and junior tri-service officers were also present on this occasion.
