Navy athletes won laurels at 12th Defence Services Games receive high praise from Commander of the Navy

The Navy athletes who won championship titles in various sports categories at the 12th Defence Services Games were felicitated by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera today (20th April 2023). The achievers met with Commander of the Navy at the Commander Parakrama Samaraweera Memorial Indoor Sports Complex in Welisara where Commander of the Navy applauded the sporting talents of the athletes.

Accordingly the champions in the team events of Volleyball, Weightlifting, Cycling, Table Tennis, Kabaddi, Archery, Netball and Wrestling and individual events such as Judo, Taekwondo and Rowing received high praise from the Navy Chief. Meanwhile, he also posed for group photographs with each team.

Director General Services, Rear Admiral Naleen Navarathne, Director Sports, Commodore Roshan Athukorala as well as chairmen and coaches of the Navy sports pools were present on this occasion.
