Navy wins division 'A' men's title in six-a-side hockey tournament

The Navy ‘A’ Team won the division 'A' men's title in ‘Seethadevi’ six-a-side hockey tournament held at the Asgiriya Stadium, Kandy on 17th and 18th December 2022. The tournament was organised by Seethadevi Girls College, Kandy and Seethadevi Sports Club.

Forty-seven (47) teams including 24 men's teams, 11 women's teams as well as boys’ and girls’ school teams contested in the six-a-side hockey tournament. Exhibiting some brilliant performance throughout, the Navy sealed the victory over Police 02 – 01 in the final, becoming the champions in division 'A'.

For the Navy, Leading Seaman KND De Silva and Radio Electricians Mate RMMD Rathnayake scored goals and Leading Seaman KND De Silva also became the player of the tournament.

Mr. P Visvanathan, Vice President of the Sri Lanka Hockey Federation, spectators and players from well-known hockey clubs were present on this occasion.
