Western and North Central Commands triumph as joint champions in Inter-command Tennis Tournament 2022

The Inter-command Tennis Tournament 2022 of the Sri Lanka Navy was held at the Eastern Naval Command Tennis Court from 05th to 10th September 2022. Recording noteworthy performances throughout the tournament both the Western and North Central Commands emerged as joint-champs and the Southern Naval Command won the runner-up title of the Inter-command Tennis Tournament 2022.

In Novices category the championship was won by Able Seaman (Physical Training Instructor) RMRGDE Bandara and Able Seaman (Physical Training Instructor) KWDD Maduranga became the runner-up. Meanwhile, Commodore DN Pathberiya and Commodore KDDC Fernando won the title in Veterans’ Doubles as the second place of the event was won by Rear Admiral KAPSK Kariyapperuma and Commodore HSK Dissanayake. In Open Doubles the championship was secured by Leading Seaman (Physical Training Instructor) NJR Hemakumara and Able Seaman (Physical Training Instructor) PMSL Perera and the runner-up slot was clinched by Captain (E) RNB Rajapaksha and Lieutenant Commander (E) DGC Jayaruwan.

The prize awarding of the Inter-command Tennis Tournament 2022 was held under the patronage of Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jayantha Kularatne. Officers and sailors from the Eastern Naval Command were also present on this occasion.
