Naval craft attached to the Eastern Naval Command on routine patrol rescued two fishermen from a capsized fishing vessel in the rough seas off Trincomalee close to midnight on 30th August 2014.

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Welusumana of the Northern Naval Command on information received recovered 7.1 kilograms of high explosives (TNT) used for illegal fishing in the Udayapuram area on 26th August 2014.
