Naval troops attached to SLNS Lankapatuna of the Eastern Naval Command arrested two persons with 772 kilograms of illegal fish catch along with a FGD engaged in illegal fishing using explosives in the general area of Uppural in the Trincomalee District on 14th August 2014.

Sri Lanka Navy assisted the repatriation of 94 Indian fishermen released from Sri Lankan custody on 16th August 2014.
