Navy brings ashore a fisherman injured at sea
Sri Lanka Navy rendered assistance to bring ashore a fishermen injured at sea and transferred him to hospital for treatment at the night of 26th September 2021. The fisherman was injured following an accident mid sea, while aboard a local fishing vessel about 30 nautical miles (approx. 55km) off Trincomalee.

A suspect nabbed in Nilaveli for illegal transportation of commercial explosives
A special operation conducted by the Navy in coordination with the Nilaveli Police made way to the apprehension of a suspect with a cache of explosives, at 08th Mile Post in Nilaveli on 24th September 2021. The apprehension was made while suspect was illegally transporting the explosive items among which were; 27 water gel sticks - a type of commercial explosive and 500 non-electric detonators.

Kerala cannabis worth over Rs. 27 million street value held in Mannar
The Navy managed to recover over 91kg of Kerala cannabis during a special operation carried out in seas off Walaipadu, Mannar and at its beach on 24th September 2021. The consignment had been left behind at Walaipadu beach by smugglers, fear of naval operations in the area.

The Navy managed to take hold of over 1175kg of dried turmeric, attempted to be smuggled via sea routes, during separate operations conducted in the sea area of Vankalai, Mannar and beach area of Gurunagar, Jaffna on 19th and 22nd September 2021.

Sri Lanka Navy took hold of over 228kg of Kerala cannabis abandoned in the beach area of Narivilkulam, during a special foot patrol carried out at the above beach on 21st September 2021.

Navy renders assistance to bring ashore 02 critically injured fishermen in southern seas for treatment
Sri Lanka Navy with the assistance of Sri Lanka Coast Guard brought ashore 02 critically injured fishermen for treatment, on 18th September 2021. The fishermen were seriously injured in a dispute between two groups of fishers aboard a local fishing vessel in the southern seas about 120 nautical miles (222 km) off Galle.

Navy seizes over 3704kg of smuggled dried turmeric with 10 suspects during operations in past 03 days
During special operations conducted in beach areas of South Bar and Irukkalampiddi and in seas south of Mannar on 16th, 17th and 18th September 2021, the Navy managed to seize over 3704kg stock of smuggled dried turmeric and apprehension of 04 local suspects with a dinghy as well as 06 Indian nationals and an Indian dhow used for these illegal acts.

Navy intercepts another foreign fishing vessel carrying heroin worth over Rs. 1575 million street value
In yet another successful operation, Sri Lanka Navy intercepted a foreign fishing vessel carrying over 170kg and 866g (including the packages) of heroin in international waters south of Sri Lanka on 10th September 2021. Meanwhile, the smuggling vessel loaded with narcotics worth more than Rs. 1575 million of street value was brought to the port of Colombo this morning (18th September 2021), along with 09 foreign nationals aboard.

Navy grabs hold of over 1162kg haul of smuggled dried turmeric with 02 suspects
The Navy managed to seize over 1162kg haul of dried turmeric, attempted to be smuggled into the island, during a special operation carried out in Ma Oya estuary, Negombo in the wee hours today (16th September 2021). The operation also led to the apprehension of 02 suspects and 02 dinghies in connection to the racket.
