A special operation conducted by the Navy in Norochcholai, Puttalam this morning (06th July 2022), led to the seizure of about 212 kg of Kerala cannabis being transferred by a van. The Navy also nabbed a suspect in connection to this racket, during this operation.

Sri Lanka Navy apprehended 53 persons who were attempting to illegally migrate from the country by sea, during separate search operations carried out in beach areas of Erakkandi, Trincomalee and Talpadu, Mannar on the night of 05th July 2022. The operations also led to the apprehension of 02 human smugglers.

Sri Lanka Navy conducted a special operation to chase away Indian trawlers poaching in northern waters of the island in the evening of 04th July 2022. Accordingly, the operation led to the seizure of an Indian trawler with 05 Indian fishermen poaching in Sri Lankan waters off the Analaitivu Island.

Sri Lanka Navy mounted a special operation in the evening of 03rd July 2022, to chase away Indian trawlers which were poaching in northern waters of the island. During this operation, the Navy seized an Indian trawler with 12 Indian fishermen poaching in island waters off Point Pedro.

A search operation carried out by the Navy in the eastern seas this morning (03rd July 2022) led to the seizure of a local multiday fishing trawler carrying 51 persons, who are suspected to be on an illegal migration attempt to a foreign country via sea.

Sri Lanka Navy seized about 1680kg of Kendu Leaves, suspected to be attempting to smuggle by sea routes, during a special operation mounted in the beach area of Keerimundalama in Kalpitiya on the night of 01st July 2022.

A search operation carried out by the Navy in western seas off Negombo in the dark hours of 27th June 2022 led to the seizure of a local multiday fishing trawler with 47 persons, suspected to be on an illegal migration attempt to Australia via sea.

Sri Lanka Navy apprehended a local multiday fishing trawler with 54 individuals, suspected to be on an illegal migration attempt to Australia via sea, during a search operation carried out in the eastern seas of the island in the wee hours of today (27th June 2022).

Sri Lanka Navy pressed into action to clear debris and other remains collected in a tributary belonging to the Deduru Oya which flows in the Anavilundawa area of Puttalam. The Navy shouldered this task from 22nd to 24th June 2022 to clear the tributary, as it was blocked by the overgrowth of aquatic plants and the accumulation of waste.
