A successful operation led by Sri Lanka Navy in coordination with the Police Narcotics Bureau in international waters south of Sri Lanka, led to the seizure of about 240kg of narcotics suspected to be heroin and apprehension of 07 foreign nationals, on 05th May 2022.

The Navy managed to apprehend 04 suspects with 07 explosive items improvised for illegal fishing, during a special operation conducted in seas off Guru Nagar, Jaffna on 05th May 2022.

The Navy sprang into action to control a sudden fire in 03 textile shops on the ground floor of a two-storeyed building in Elakanda area, Wattala this morning (06th May 2022).

A special operation carried out by the Navy in Saukkadu sea area in the dark hours on 03rd May 2022 led to the seizure of about 492kg of Kerala cannabis and apprehension of a suspect with a dinghy.

The Navy managed to recover several explosive items secured to the seabed by means of a buoy, during a search operation carried out in Nayaru sea area on 26th April 2022. Among the recovered items were 04 Water Gel sticks which are used as commercial explosives and several other items used for detonation of explosives.

A special foot-patrol conducted by the Navy at Sallimunai beach, Trincomalee on 23rd April 2022 led to the apprehension of a suspect with explosive items. Among the items seized were improvised explosives using 08 Water Gel sticks - a type of commercial explosive, 07 non-electric detonators and 2.5 inch long 07 safety fuses.

Sri Lanka Navy managed to take hold of about 81kg and 220g (wet weight) of Kerala cannabis, during a patrol in seas off Mannar sand banks this morning (20th April 2022).

Sri Lanka Navy seized a stock of Kerala cannabis weighing about 50kg and 380g (wet weight) during a patrol conducted in Urumalai beach, Mannar this morning (18th April 2022).

Sri Lanka Navy took hold of Kerala cannabis weighing about 197kg and 60g (wet weight) during a patrol conducted in seas south of Mannar on 16th April 2022.

A special operation conducted by Sri Lanka Navy in seas off the Delft Island, Jaffna on the night of 13th April 2022) led to the apprehension of 03 suspects with Kerala cannabis weighing about 150kg (wet weight) and a dinghy used for this smuggling attempt.
