The Sri Lanka Navy in the wee hours of 06th March 2024 apprehended 19 persons who engaged in illegal night diving, during a search operation conducted in the Iranativu south seas of Mannar. The search operation also led to the seizure of 02 dinghies, diving gear and 1339 sea cucumbers.

A coordinated operation conducted by the Navy and Police STF in Uduththurei, Kilinochchi on the evening of 05th March 2024 led to the arrest of a suspect and seizure of over 03kg of Kerala cannabis and a motorcycle.

A search operation carried out by the Navy off Uchchamunai in Kalpitiya on 03rd March 2023, resulted in the apprehension of 02 suspects for smuggling a stock of insecticide via sea.

A special search operation conducted by the Sri Lanka Navy in the beach area of Ilanthadiya, Kalpitiya on 03rd March 2024, led to the apprehension of a suspect (01) with about 3440kg of Tendu leaves, believed to have been smuggled.

The Sri Lanka Navy on 29th February 2024 apprehended 03 persons for illegal transportation of sea cucumber in Walaipadu sea area of Mannar, without valid license. The search operation also led to the seizure of a dinghy and 3070 sea cucumbers loaded in it.

The Navy recovered over 03kg of Kerala cannabis, during a search operation conducted in the Manalkadu beach area of Point Pedro on 29th February 2024.

A coordinated operation conducted by the Navy and Police STF in the Iluppukadawai lagoon, Mannar on 28th February 2024 led to the recovery of 53000 Pregabalin capsules concealed in shrubs.

A special search operation carried out by the Navy with Police in the Pallemunai area, Mannar this morning (21st February 2024) led to the arrest of a person with 650 water gel sticks – a type of commercial explosive. The arrest was made while the suspect was carrying them in a bus.

A special search operation conducted by the Sri Lanka Navy in the sea area of Baththalangunduwa, Kalpitiya on 19th February 2024 led to the apprehension of 02 suspects attempting to smuggle in Tendu leaves weighing about 1471kg (wet weight) by a dinghy.

A coordinated search operation carried out by the Navy and Police in Naayaathuweli of Andankulam, Mannar on 15th February 2024 led to the arrest of a person for illegal possession of 3621 conch shells which were not within the legally accepted limit.
