Two (02) suspects held with Crystal Methamphetamine, foreign fags and illicit liquor in Nagavilluwa, Puttalam

A coordinated search operation conducted by the Navy and Police Narcotic Bureau, in Nagavilluwa, Puttalam on 01st November 2024 led to the apprehension of 02 suspects with 8g of Crystal Methamphetamine (ICE), 320 foreign cigarettes, 440 litres of Goda and 100 litres of illicit liquor.

The operation was mounted by SLNS Thambapanni belonging to the Northwestern Naval Command with the assistance of the Navy and Police Narcotic Bureau in the Nagavilluwa area. The 8g of Crystal Methamphetamine (ICE), 320 foreign cigarettes, 440 litres of Goda and 100 litres of illicit liquor were recovered, upon search of a suspicious house in the area. The stash of illicit items have been made ready for sale, when the raid was made. The operation was also resulted in the arrest of 02 suspects in connection to the incident.

The two suspects held in this operation were identified as residents of Palaviya and Puttalam areas, aged 28 and 39. The suspects along with seized items were handed over to the Police Narcotic Bureau in Puttalam for onward legal action.
