A suspects held with 1440 Pregabalin capsules in Batticaloa

A coordinated operation conducted by the Sri Lanka Navy and Police Special Task Force (STF) - Kalladi led to the arrest of a suspect and seizure of 1440 Pregabalin capsules and a car in Batticaloa on 11th May 2024.

SLNS Kashyapa in the Eastern Naval Command mounted this operation with the assistance of Police Special Task Force (STF) – Kalladi in Batticaloa on 11th May. The coordinated operation resulted in the recovery of Pregabalin capsules, made ready for sale, upon search of a car on suspicion. Accordingly, a suspect involved in this racket, the car and 1440 Pregabalin capsules were taken into custody.

The suspect held in this operation was identified as a resident of Batticaloa, aged 32. The suspect together with medicinal drugs and the car was handed over to the Batticaloa Police for onward legal action.
