Navy divers fix defunct sluice gate of Galamediyawa Tank

Sri Lanka Navy divers undertook a dedicated mission on 27th January 2024, to repair the malfunctioning sluice gate of the Galamediyawa Tank in Thambalagamuwa, Trincomalee.

The functions of the Galamediyawa Tank is carried out under the supervision of the Department of Agrarian Development, Trincomalee. As water wastage caused by a malfunctioning sluice discharging water from the tank, the Eastern Naval Command’s diving team was requested by the Assistant Commissioner for Agricultural Development, Trincomalee, seeking assistance in repairing the sluice.

Accordingly, the Navy divers exerted considerable effort to repair the malfunctioning sluice gate, successfully restoring its functionality.
