Navy apprehends suspect with 526 medicinal drugs in Talaimannar

The Sri Lanka Navy apprehended a suspect with 526 Pregabalin capsules, during a special search operation conducted with the Police in Ambalnagar, Talaimannar in the dark hours of 06th January 2024.

In a coordinated operation conducted by SLNS Thammanna in the North Central Naval Command in collaboration with the Mannar Police STF, a residence in Ambalnagar underwent a search. The search uncovered a sack buried behind the house, revealing 526 capsules of Pregabalin. Subsequently, both the medicinal drugs and a suspect were taken into custody.

The apprehended individual was identified as a resident of Mannar, aged 30. The suspect together with medicinal drugs were handed over to the Talaimannar Police for onward legal action.
