Navy’s swift response brings relief to people affected by floods in North Central Province

In the wake of inclement weather prevailing in several parts of the island, the Navy has swiftly mobilized its relief teams in Parakramapura of Padaviya, Anuradhapura since 03rd December 2023. Demonstrating their commitment to safeguarding lives and property, the Navy relief teams are currently engaged to alleviate the suffering of the affected communities.

The tireless efforts of the Navy provided immediate relief and instilled a sense of hope and resilience within people stranded by floods in Parakramapura as the locality was inundated after the over spilling of Ma Oya. In response, the Navy has implemented a boat service to meet the daily needs of those affected by the floods.

Against this background, the Navy is ready to send out extra relief teams whenever the need arises.
