Naval personnel save stranded Whale Shark at Kartivu Beach, Kalmunai

The Sri Lanka Navy on 05th December 2023 safely guided a stranded Whale Shark that had washed ashore at Karthivu Beach, Kalmunai.

Upon receipt of information by SLNS Deegayu in the Southeastern Naval Command about the whale shark stranded on the beach, the Navy sent out a team of naval personnel to the beach vicinity. Working in partnership with the residents in the area, naval personnel managed to safely guide the stranded Whale Shark back into deeper waters.
