Navy continues to assist flood victims

Following adverse weather conditions prevailing in several parts of the island, the Sri Lanka Navy has mobilized its flood relief teams in Matara, Akuressa, Thihagoda and Kamuburupitiya areas in the Southern Province as of 04th October 2023. These teams are currently engaged in providing assistance to the flood-affected individuals in those regions.

Due to the flood situation in the Kamburupitiya, Akuressa, Thihagoda and Athuraliya areas of Matara district on 07th October 2023, caused by the overflowing of the Nilwala river, the Navy teams are using dinghies to offer crucial transportation to people struggling to meet their everyday needs.
