Navy seizes another stock of Kerala cannabis in Chilaw seas

Sri Lanka Navy seized over 23kg of Kerala cannabis floating in the seas off Mukku Thoduwawa, Chilaw, during a search operation conducted in the aforesaid sea area today (20^th June 2021).

Accordingly, the search operation conducted by the Northwestern Naval Command off Mukku Thoduwawa, Chilaw today led to the recovery of about 23kg and 100g of Kerala cannabis in 10 packages, stuffed in a gunny adrift in seas. Incidentally, the Navy has been able to recover about 308kg of Kerala cannabis during operations in the seas off Chilaw on 18^th, 19^th and 20^th of June 2021 alone.

Further, the Navy and the Chilaw Police are conducting further investigations to nab the smugglers involved in the Kerala cannabis smuggling in seas off Chilaw.
