Two (02) persons held with explosives in Sampoor

During a coordinated operation conducted by the Navy with the Police STF, 02 suspects had been apprehended with water gel explosive in Sampoor on 16th September 2020.

As such, the combined operation carried out by Eastern Naval Command with Sardhapura Police STF led to the apprehension of 02 persons with 17 water gel sticks which had been made ready to be sold.

The 02 suspects were identified as residents of Sampoor and Trincomalee, aged 22 and 31. The accused along with explosive items were handed over to the Sampoor Police for onward investigation.
