Four persons engaged in cutting Mesquite trees apprehended by Navy

SL Navy apprehended four (04) persons who engaged in cutting Mesquite trees (Kalapu Andara), during a patrol carried out in Thirukeshwaram area on 18^th July 2020.

Accordingly, these four persons engaged in cutting Mesquite trees at Thirukeshwaram area in Vedittalativu Nature Reserve, were apprehended by naval personnel of North Central Naval Command on a patrol. A tractor, a motor bike, a chainsaw, 02 knives and about 60 logs of cut Mesquite trees were taken into naval custody.

The apprehended persons are residents of Nanattan area. The suspects along with tractor, motor bike, chainsaw, knives and logs of Mesquite trees were handed over to Vankalai Police for onward investigation.
