Navy assists with technology and labour for construction of a building for Computerized Tomography Scanning Division at National Institute of Infectious Diseases
The two storey building constructed with SL Navy’s technological and labour assistance, for Computerized Tomography Scanning Division (CT scan) at National Institute of Infectious Diseases in Angoda, was officially handed over to the institution on 04th June 2020.

SLNS ‘Samudura’ continuous to provide fuel to distressed fishing trawlers at sea
The local multi-day fishing vessels that were washed-away to Indonesian seas as a result of the recent cyclonic storm ‘Amphan’, are now reaching the island’s shores with the help of the Sri Lanka Navy Ship ‘Samudura’. Meanwhile, SLNS ‘Samudura’ continues to provide food, water, medical aid and fuel to these distressed vessels.

SLNS ‘Samudura’ reaches Sri Lankan fishing vessels stranded by Amfan cyclonic storm
Subsequently, SLNS Samudura is providing food, medicine and fuel for Sri Lankan multiday fishing vessels which have been driven away to the seas off Indonesia by the Amfan cyclonic storm and now on their passage towards Sri Lanka.

Navy dispatch ship to assist the stranded fishing vessels by ‘Amfan’ cyclonic storm
Sri Lanka Navy, today (21st May 2020) dispatched an Advanced Offshore Patrol Vessel to assists and provide fuel to the Sri Lankan multiday fishing vessels driven away to the seas off Indonesia by the effect of inclement weather caused by the ‘Amfan’ cyclonic storm formed in the seas around the Bay of Bengal, during past days.

Arrangements made to provide monthly medications from nearest government hospitals for those who receive treatment from Navy General Hospital
The Navy General Hospital –Colombo has been converted into a treatment center for persons infected with the new coronavirus, soon after the outbreak of COVID – 19. In this backdrop, retired naval personnel, family members of naval personnel and civil staff employees receiving treatment from monthly clinics of the hospital faced quite a few hardships. Taking these matters into consideration, the Navy arranged a new programme, enabling the clinic attendees to receive their medication from the nearest government hospital.
