Chief of the Naval Staff of Pakistan leaves the island concluding official visit

The Chief of the Naval Staff of Pakistan Navy, Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi who arrived in Sri Lanka on 25th February 2023 on an official visit, left for Pakistan from the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) today (28th February).

During this visit, Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi held discussions with defence chiefs and some of the key dignitaries of Sri Lanka. Accordingly, the visiting Navy Chief of Pakistan met with Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, Commander of the Army, Commander of the Air Force and Chief of Defence Staff. He also called on Defence Secretary General Kamal Gunaratne (Retd), Prime Minister, Hon. Dinesh Gunawardena, and the President Hon. Ranil Wickremesinghe and exchanged views on several matters of bilateral importance. Moreover, Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi also embarked on sightseeing tours in the island. During his visit to the Naval Dockyard, Trincomalee the Chief of the Naval Staff of Pakistan Navy called at the Naval and Maritime Academy and met with the Commander Eastern Naval Command as well.

On the sidelines of this visit, the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, under the directives of its President Mrs Mala Lamahewa, had also organized a special programme for Mrs Amira Amjad, the spouse of Chief of Naval Staff of Pakistan.
