Commander of the Air Force pays farewell courtesy call on Commander of the Navy
Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias making a formal visit to the Navy Headquarters, paid a farewell courtesy call on Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne today (29th October 2020).
Air Marshal Dias who is on the eve of relinquishing his duties to which he was committed over the years was accorded a Guard of Honour in accordance with naval traditions and he was warmly received to the Navy Headquarters by Deputy Chief of Staff and Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Sumith Weerasinghe. The occasion was also attended by Chief of Staff of the Navy and the Board of Management.
During the ensuing meeting, the two top brass of the Navy and Air Force held a cordial discussion where Air Marshal Sumangala Dias particularly expressed his gratitude to Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne, for the cooperation and support extended by Sri Lanka Navy, during his tenure as Commander of the Air Force. In the meantime, Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ulugetenne also took this opportunity to wish best of luck for the future endeavours of Air Marshal Sumangala Dias.
Meanwhile, exchange of mementos as symbols of goodwill and camaraderie, brought the cordial meeting to a culmination.
