48 Navy teams remain standby to extend relief to people affected by inclement weather
A group of Indian fishermen stranded in Sri Lankan waters rescued by the Navy
Sri Lanka Navy rescued 06 distressed Indian fishermen drifted to the Sri Lankan waters north of Talaimannar, with their defunct trawler. The rescued Indian fishermen were provided humanitarian assistance and handed over to another Indian fishing trawler at the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL).

MRCC Colombo renders assistance to rescue a group of distressed fishermen in high seas
The Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) Colombo today (11th July 2022) coordinated the rescue of 03 fishermen whose lives were at risk aboard a distressed local fishing trawler at sea. The fishing trawler was in high seas southeast of Sri Lanka, about 174 nautical miles (about 322 km) from the Great Basses Reef Lighthouse.

Navy teams continue to provide relief to people affected by adverse weather
Sri Lanka Navy this morning (01st June 2022) deployed 13 relief teams in flood-risk areas in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces to extend relief to flood victims in those areas. Accordingly, the Navy relief teams are currently working in full swing to assist affected communities in respective areas as of now.

Thirteen (13) Navy teams engaged in flood relief duties following inclement weather
Navy remains standby to extend relief to people affected by inclement weather
Sri Lanka Navy deployed 06 relief teams in several places in the Sabaragamuwa and Southern Provinces as of the morning of 31st May 2022. The Navy relief teams have been sent out to respective areas to provide relief to the people who are vulnerable to flash floods, triggered due to adverse weather in several parts of the island.
