Navy in search and rescue operation to locate missing fisherman on sunken Indian poaching vessel in Sri Lankan waters
Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) managed to rescue 02 fishermen aboard a sunken Indian fishing boat poaching in Sri Lankan waters across the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) northwest of the Kovilan Lighthouse in the evening of 18th October 2021. Further, Navy’s search and rescue operation is still underway to find another fisherman went missing following the incident.

Navy brings ashore a fisherman injured at sea
Sri Lanka Navy rendered assistance to bring ashore a fishermen injured at sea and transferred him to hospital for treatment at the night of 26th September 2021. The fisherman was injured following an accident mid sea, while aboard a local fishing vessel about 30 nautical miles (approx. 55km) off Trincomalee.

Navy renders assistance to bring ashore 02 critically injured fishermen in southern seas for treatment
Sri Lanka Navy with the assistance of Sri Lanka Coast Guard brought ashore 02 critically injured fishermen for treatment, on 18th September 2021. The fishermen were seriously injured in a dispute between two groups of fishers aboard a local fishing vessel in the southern seas about 120 nautical miles (222 km) off Galle.

Navy brings ashore ill fisherman for treatment
Sri Lanka Navy brought ashore an ill fisherman in high seas and rushed him to hospital for treatment last night (04th August 2021). The fisherman who was aboard a local fishing trawler, in seas about 71 nautical miles (about 131 km) off Galle Lighthouse, had suddenly fallen ill and was in need of medical attention.

Navy brings ashore another critically ill fisherman for treatment
Sri Lanka Navy brought ashore another critically ill fisherman and rushed him to hospital for treatment today (07th June 2021). The fisherman who was aboard a fishing trawler in seas about 85 nautical miles (about 157 km) southwest of Beruwala, had suddenly fallen ill and was in critical condition.

Thirty two (32) Navy relief teams engaged in flood relief operations
To provide relief to the people affected by floods in the Western, Southern and Sabaragamuwa Provinces due to heavy rains, Sri Lanka Navy has deployed 32 relief teams in flood relief operations in the districts of Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Galle and Rathnapura. Meanwhile, the Navy teams continue to attend urgent relief operations focusing the flood affected communities today (07th June 2021) as well.

Navy rescues 27 more flood victims in Gampaha district
The Navy today (06th June 2021) managed to rescue 27 individuals, including children and women, affected by floods in Ja-Ela area in the Gampaha district, with the onset of showery weather condition. Upon being rescued, these persons were swiftly accommodated in safe locations and facilitated with relief measures.

Navy rescues 66 more persons victimized by flood in Gampaha and Kalutara districts
Sri Lanka Navy has deployed 33 relief tams in the Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa and Northwestern Provinces to provide relief to the people affected by the floods caused by torrential rains. By this afternoon (05th June 2021), Navy relief teams have rescued to 66 more persons including children and women, affected by floods in several areas in the Gampaha and Kalutara districts and provided them relief measures.
