Navy brings ashore an ill fisherman for treatment
Sri Lanka Navy rendered assistance to bring ashore an ill fisherman and transfer him to hospital for treatment on the night of 16th March 2022. The fisherman was suffering from chest pain while aboard a local multiday fishing vessel which was about 24 nautical miles (approx. 44km) east of Hambantota.

Navy renders assistance to bring ashore ill fisherman for treatment
Sri Lanka Navy brought ashore an ill fisherman in the high seas and rushed him to hospital for treatment today (21st February 2022). The fisherman who was aboard a local multiday fishing trawler, in seas about 115 nautical miles (about 213 km) off the Galle Lighthouse, had suddenly fallen ill and was in need of medical attention.

Navy rescues fisherman stranded at sea for more than 18 hours, fallen from multiday trawler
Sri Lanka Navy mounted a search and rescue (SAR) operation in search of a fisherman who fell into sea from the multi duty fishing trawler ‘Lakvidu 3’ on the evening of 08th January 2022. In a successful SAR operation, the Navy’s Fast Passenger Craft A 543 managed to rescue the fisherman this morning (09th January). The rescuee was rushed to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital for treatment, upon being brought to the Galle Harbour by the Navy.

Navy renders assistance to fishermen of distressed local fishing vessel at sea
Sri Lanka Navy coordinated the arrangements to bring ashore 05 fishermen, rescued by MV LGC Periklis (IMO 9796171), to the Galle Harbour. The fishermen were in distress as their multiday fishing trawler ‘Asela Putha II’ had capsized due to adverse weather in seas southwestern of Sri Lanka. Having transferred the fishermen ashore, the Navy rushed them to the Karapitiya Hospital, Galle for medical attention this evening (08th January 2022).

Navy in search and rescue operation to locate missing persons in ferry accident in Kinniya
Navy rescues 288 persons victimized by flood
Navy relief teams engaging in rescue and relief operations in the face of adverse weather rescued 288 persons in the past 48 hours (from 08th to 10th November 2021) in several parts of the island. Upon rescue of those individuals, the Navy has relocated them in safe locations and provided relief measures.
