Navy swiftly responds to bring ashore an ill fisherman for urgent treatment
The Sri Lanka Navy swiftly responded to bring ashore an ill fisherman and transfer him to hospital, for urgent medical attention this morning (19 Jan 25). The fisherman was aboard a multiday fishing trawler on the high seas off the south coast and the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) Colombo coordinated the retrieval of the fisherman.

Navy assists to bring ashore ill fisherman in eastern seas, through MRCC coordination
The Sri Lanka Navy brought ashore an ill fisherman who was in critical condition aboard a local multiday fishing trawler, about 16 nautical miles (29km) off Trincomalee. Upon being brought ashore, he was rushed to the Trincomalee General Hospital on the night of 10 Dec 25 for medical attention.

Navy extends assistance to flood-affected communities in Avissawella
A medical clinic was organized by the Amithirigala Medical Office of Health at Gurugalle Junior College, Avissawella, on 30 Nov 25, to support residents affected by severe flooding triggered by adverse weather conditions. The Navy rendered assistance for this cause, providing essential support and relief to the communities impacted by the floods.
