A suspect with prescription drugs held in Anuradhapura
A coordinated operation conducted by the Sri Lanka Navy and Food and Drugs Inspector unit- Anuradhapura led to the apprehension of a suspect and seizure of 918 prescription drugs, made ready for sale, in Anuradhapura on 11th June 2024.
Accordingly, SLNS Pandukabhaya in the North Central Naval Command mounted this operation with the assistance of Food and Drugs Inspector unit - Anuradhapura on 11th June. After searching a retail shop in the Anuradhapura area, these 918 prescription drugs, made ready for sale, were seized. The operation also led to the apprehension of a suspect in connection to the incident.
The suspect held in this operation was identified as a resident of Anuradhapura, aged 42. The suspect together with medicinal drugs was handed over to the Food and Drugs Inspector unit- Anuradhapura for onward legal action.
