Offshore Patrol Vessel P 627 - the most recent addition to SLN fleet arrives at Port of Colombo
The Offshore Patrol Vessel P 627, acquired to the Sri Lanka Navy from the United States (U.S.) Coast Guard, arrived at the Port of Colombo on the morning of 02nd November 2022. The ship began her home-bound journey from the Port of Seattle on 03rd September 2022 and arrived in Colombo after about 10656 nautical miles (19734 km) of sea passage. At the invitation of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne, the State Minister of Defence, Hon. Premitha Bandara Tennakoon, U.S. Ambassador to Sri Lanka, H.E. Julie Chung, Defence Secretary, General Kamal Gunaratne (Retd), Chief of Defence Staff, General Shavendra Silva, Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage, Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana and a host of distinguished guests were present on the occasion to welcome the ship.

Navy Seva Vanitha Unit expands its services
Following an idea mooted by the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Chandima Ulugetenne, the services provided by the Seva Vanitha Unit (SVU) have been expanded further, so that the public can obtain them at concessionary rates. Accordingly, the civilians now have access to the services provided by SVU Salon, Flower Decoration Unit and Batik Centre established at the Naval Complex in Welisara.

Three (03) virtuous naval personnel commended by Commander of the Navy
Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne recognized virtues of 03 naval personnel by awarding them with Letters of Commendation at the Naval Headquarters today (28th October 2022). The naval personnel has turned down bribes offered to drop charges on accused who involved in blast fishing and apprehended those 03 with a dinghy and 02 other individuals who offered a bounty for the release of their associates.

HMAS Adelaide and HMAS Anzac depart island after successful naval exercise with Sri Lanka Navy
The two (02) Royal Australian Navy (RAN) ships HMAS Adelaide and HMAS Anzac departed the island on 26th October 2022 after a successful Passage Exercise (PASSEX) conducted with SLNS Sayurala and SLNS Sindurala of Sri Lanka Navy. The duo of RAN ships arrived at the port of Colombo on 25th October for engagements with the Sri Lanka Navy, as part of Indo-Pacific Endeavour 2022.

Two (02) Royal Australian Navy ships in Indo-Pacific Endeavour 2022 arrive at the Port of Colombo
Two (02) ships of the Royal Australian Navy, namely; HMAS Adelaide and HMAS Anzac which are engaged in Indo-Pacific Endeavour 2022 arrived at the Port of Colombo this morning (25th October 2022). On their arrival, the visiting ships were welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval tradition.
