The Sri Lanka Navy recognized the achievements of its personnel in the Navy Public Speaking Competition 2025 and the Admiral Clancy Fernando Memorial Essay Competition 2025 at a special event held on 20 Nov 25 at the Admiral Somathilake Dissanayake Auditorium, Navy Headquarters. The event was graced by the Director General Health Services, Rear Admiral Janaka Marambe and Mrs. Monika Fernando, the spouse of the late Admiral Clancy Fernando.

Three (03) Landing Craft Utility (LCU) ships from the Indian Navy, which arrived in Colombo for replenishment purpose, departed the island on 25 Nov 25. The Sri Lanka Navy bade a customary farewell to the departing ship at the Port of Colombo, following naval traditions.

In a media briefing held on 24 Nov 25 at the Department of Government Information, the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) unveiled an extensive series of events to mark its proud 75th anniversary, centering on the upcoming International Fleet Review (IFR) 2025 under the theme “Sailing Strong Together”. The press briefing, presided over by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda, detailed several days of activities that blend cherished naval traditions with social, ethical, and environmental initiatives.

The Indian Naval Ship (INS) SUKANYA made a port call in Colombo for operational turnaround on the morning of 18 Nov 25. The Sri Lanka Navy welcomed the visiting ship in compliance with naval traditions.

The main commemoration ceremony of the Armed Forces Remembrance Day – 2025 was held on 16 Nov 25 under the patronage of the Prime Minister, Hon. (Dr.) Harini Amarasuriya at the Cenotaph War Memorial of the Viharamahadevi Park, Colombo. The solemn occasion was also attended by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda.‍
