Navy renders assistance to conduct community eye clinic and non-communicable diseases prevention programme in Trincomalee
The Sri Lanka Navy rendered assistance to conduct a community eye clinic and non-communicable diseases prevention programme at the Urban Council, Trincomalee on 26th March 2023. The event was held in partnership with the Lions Clubs of Trincomalee and Handala, for the benefit of people in the locality.

Joint Combined Exchange Training (JCET) Balance Style 01/2023 concludes in Trincomalee
The Joint Combined Exchange Training (JCET) Balance Style 01/2023 conducted by the Sri Lanka Navy and the U.S. Army came to an end at the Special Boat Squadron (SBS) Headquarters in Trincomalee on a successful note. The certificate awarding ceremony was held under the patronage of Deputy Area Commander Eastern Naval Area, Commodore Mahesh De Silva on 24th March 2023.

Surgeon Commodore Nandani Wijedoru inducted as President of SLCOMM
A ceremony to induct Surgeon Commodore Nandani Wijedoru as the seventh (07th) President of Sri Lanka College of Military Medicine (SLCOMM) was held at the Admiral Somathilake Dissanayake Auditorium, Navy Headquarters on 24th March 2023. The ceremony was graced by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera as the Chief Guest.

Navy receives Beach Tech Sweepy (BTS) to clean beaches
A mechanized beach cleanup programme began at the Crow Island beach, Mattakkuliya on 12th March 2023, and the Sri Lanka Navy received a Beach Tech Sweepy (BTS) machinery used for mechanized beach cleanup efforts, from the Marine Environment Protection Authority on today (25th March 2023) under the patronage of Senior Adviser to the President on National Security and Chief of the Presidential Staff, Mr. Sagala Ratnayake and Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera.

Ranaviru Seva Authority awards scholarships to children from war hero families
The Ranaviru Seva Authority today (24th March 2023) held a programme to award scholarships to 16 children of veterans of Armed Forces and Police who died due to non-operational causes. The event was held at the Headquarters Office of Ranaviru Seva Authority under the patronage of the Chairman of the Ranaviru Seva Authority, Major General Nandana Senadeera (Retd) and it was also attended by the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Mala Lamahewa.

The Sri Lanka Navy today (24th March 2023) bade farewell to Rear Admiral Mahinda Mahawatte who relinquished his naval duties to which he was committed over the past 33 years.

Navy releases 146 sea turtle hatchlings into ocean
The Sri Lanka Navy released 146 sea turtle hatchlings at Panama beach on 21st March 2023, in a bid to save these endangered marine animal. The Commander Southeastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Kanchana Banagoda was also in attendance on this occasion where the hatchlings were released. As part of the Turtle Conservation Project of the Sri Lanka Navy, the eggs of these hatchlings were conserved at the Turtle Conservation Unit in SLNS Mahanaga.

New Dental Surgery Unit at SLNS Vidura declared open on World Oral Health Day
On the sidelines of World Oral Health Day (20th March), a newly constructed Dental Surgery Unit was declared open at SLNS Vidura in the Eastern Naval Command today (20th March 2023). The opening ceremony was graced by the Commander Eastern Naval Area and Commandant Volunteer Naval Force, Rear Admiral Dammika Kumara.
