Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage declared open the newly-constructed museum at the Nagadeepa Purana Raja Maha Viharaya on 03rd April 2014.

The Special Boat Squadron of the Sri Lanka Navy commenced the asymmetric warfare course 2014 on 27th January 2014 at their headquarters in Trincomalee. Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Rohan Amarasinghe graced the occasion as the chief guest.
