Three persons along with a Fiber Glass Dinghy and a fishing net (Surukku) were taken into naval custody in the seas off Arippu on 28th December 2015.

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Barana in Mullikulam arrested five persons along with a Fiber Glass Dinghy and a purse-seine net (Laila) in the seas between Kudiramalei Point and Pukkulam whilst engaged in illegal fishing methods on 28th December 2015.
