Naval personnel attached to Rapid Action Boat Squadron (RABS) Headquarters in Kalpitiya arrested seventeen local fishermen with 5 FGDs engaged in illegal fishing using a banned fishing nets in the Uchchamuniya and Kimbulbokka sea areas on 13th February 2016.

Two Royal Omani Navy Ships, ‘Al Shamikh’ and ‘Al Seeb’ arrived at the Port of Colombo on 12th February 2016 on a goodwill and replenishment visit.

The Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, is in India attending the International Fleet Review (IFR) organized by the Indian Navy, met a number of participating senior naval officers and held cordial discussions of mutual importance, strengthening the naval ties with the respective navies.
