The inter-command basketball tournament of the Sri Lanka Navy was held at SLN Dockyard in Trincomalee from 03rd to 07th October 2014.

The Rapid Response Rescue and Relief Squadron (4RS) underwent a silver medal refresher life saving training on 01st October 2014 at the Calido beach in Kalutara. The Commanding Officer RABS/4RS and seventy-four 4RS personnel took part in the training programme conducted in collaboration with the Life Saving Association of Sri Lanka (LSASL) and Life Saving Victoria (LSV) based in Australia.

The Navy Musical Band and Cultural Troupe held two mucsical shows in Karainagar and Kaytes. A large number of civilians in the area attended the shows which were held on 06th and 07th October 2014 respectively.

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera commended the training provided by Leading Seaman Sanath Bandara to Kulunu Gaveshika Nanayakkara and Dishara Desedi Hettiarachci of the Carlton Pre-school enabling them to set a Guinness record by completing a bicycle ride of 191 kilometer distance on the World Children’s Day.

Defence Attaché of the Republic of Korea to Sri Lanka (Non-resident), Colonel Chuolhwan Kim paid a courtesy call on Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera at the Naval Headquarters in Colombo on 07th October 2014.

The Commanding Officer of the Volunteer Naval Force, Commodore IMP Sarath paid his farewell call on the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera at the Naval Headquarters on 07th October 2014.

The Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera visited the South Eastern Naval Area on 06th October 2014. He was accompanied by the President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs. Shalika Perera, Director Generals and senior officers attached to the Naval Headquarters.

The Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera was the Chief Guest at the annual concert of the Thurstan College Primary Section, “Kekulu Sara 4”, which was held at the Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theater on 03rd October 2014.

As part of the Sri Lanka Navy’s community development and social responsibility project, a blood donation campaign was held at SLNS Vijaya of the North Western Naval Command on 30th September 2014

Two Pakistan naval ships,"SAIF" and "NASR" arrived at the Port of Colombo on 01st October 2014 on a goodwill visit.
